Mystic Street in Arlington (MA) Center — from the Arlington News
I woke up this morning to see that some of the leaves were already turning.
What the hell?!?!?!
All of the leaves were green yesterday.
Yankee Magazine's Fall Foliage Map is totally backing me up here. Leaves are already a-turning and it appears my part of the world is due for an early peak season.
Oh, joy. Just what I need. The plague of New England. Our punishment for kicking off the Revolutionary War with a bang: Leaf peepers.
God save us all from tourists, interstellar aliens, and other strangers.
I need more allergy drugs. Not for the allergies. To survive tourist season.
I'm telling you, there's only one way to deal with the annual onslaught: while whacked out on Sudafed — and I'm talking the real stuff. The stuff they keep behind the counter and make you show ID whenever you purchase it because it can be used to manufacture crystal meth.
I need one more week, damn it! I'm not nearly stoned enough to deal with tourists.
