Dark Xander Poll Results

*bah* Still fighting a headache. Turns out that my problem the other day was a very bad allergy attack due to a combination of constantly "on" air conditioning at work and the humid air. (I get headaches from mold.) It's slooooowly fading, but I feel like I've gone three rounds with truck.

Any way, once I can screw my head on straight, I'll throw up the sekrit rools for the Dark Xander fic-a-thon. In the meantime, here are the results (I left out the fun answers. For a total response, go here):

When is a good month for people to participate? (more than one answer possible)

September 8 — 8 (13.8%)

October 8 — 19 (32.8%)

November 8 — 8 (13.8%)

December 8 — 10 (17.2%)

What kind of fic would you like to see included? (more than one answer possible)

Evil Xander (human, demon, it doesn't matter) — 31 (53.4%)

Xander with a questionable moral compass (not necessarily evil, just doing things that show that his ol' white hat is a darker shade of grey) — 55 (94.8%)

Xander in a lose-lose situation (the sitaution is dark, but he doesn't have to be) — 35 (60.3%)

Xander alienated from people — especially people he cares about — in general and it's all his fault — 24 (41.4%)

Xander alienated from people — especially people he cares about — in general and it's not his fault — 39 (67.2%)

List other "dark" Xander scenarios you'd like to include in the "dark" definition for purposes of this fic-a-thon.

Note: I think pretty much all the specific scenarios can fit into any of the above broad categories. I'll see what I can do about wording the sekrit rools to make sure this is incorporated.

Please also note: Since this is an "open fic-a-thon," it's writer's choice. I know I got some email in the past few days suggesting detailed story ideas, but due to work/life/screeching headache I haven't gotten back to you and I apologize.

I'll direct people with specific story ideas and/or requests and/or plot-bunnies that are up for adoption to their comments to another LJ group. I just have to do a quick email to the owners of the comm in question to make sure it's okay that suggestions go there.

What kind of fic-a-thon do you want?

Open: Just set a deadline, and on the big day, people will send links to their story — 21 (36.2%)

Traditional: Have participants post a scenio they want to see, have them list what they won't write, and match up requests with writers — 10 (17.2%)

Can go either way. Both sound good. — 18 (31.0%)

Just to make this challenging, what kind of elements do you want to see excluded? Keep in mind, I'm pre-emptively excluding hardcore Slave!Fics, in which Xander owns a canon character as a slave or is a slave to another canon character. However, I also understand that there's grey area. If you have an idea or doubts, contact me privately and we can chat. (more than one answer possible)

No exclusions! Keep the possibilities open (except for that hardcore slave-fic thing-y because, hey, your fic-a-thon) — 22 (40.0%)

No character-bashing Xander (which is hilarious considering this a Dark Xander fic-a-thon) — 19 (34.5%)

No character-bashing of non-Xander characters — 28 (50.9%)

No dead Xander (unless he's a vampire — in which case, he's undead and thus doesn't fall under this category) — 12 (21.8%)

What "version" of Xander should we play with?

Let's do it all! (old skool and future fics) — 48 (82.8%)

Post-S7 Xander only (future fics) — 4 (6.9%)

Seasons 1-7 Xander only (old skool fics) — 3 (5.2%)

Should this be limited only to LJ? Or can anyone play?

LJ only people please for ease of linkage and navigation — 7 (12.1%)

The more the merrier. — 38 (65.5%)

There you have it. I'll post the sekrit rools tonight, but it's looking like October 8 is the big day, going by responses.

I just have to shoot off a quick email, then I have to medicate myself, then busy day of stuff to do before rools.

Thanks everyone!
