Also, do we really want to emulate the Chinese when torturing questioning prisoners at Guantánamo Bay? I don't think so either, but we're not the ones in charge.

The ones in charge are actually all for it. They've written a ton of memos about it, too. Haven't seen that reported too widely, have you? Just one question: Can we send these war criminals to the Hague now? What can I say, there are no 'good Germans' in this country, that's for sure.

To really add to that feeling of a downward spiral, Obama doesn't get why a lot of people think the 'Office of Faith-Based Initiatives' is a very, very bad idea. And he's completely tone-deaf about why people wanted him to take a stand against FISA. I knew Obama wasn't going to be bringing us unicorns and rainbows, but this shit this soon? I thought he was a little smarter than that.

And you wanna know what really sucks? Obama is better than the alternative.

Sometimes I wonder where my country went so, so wrong.

Is it bad form to hang black bunting out my window on the the Fourth of July? Because that's just about the only thing that correctly matches my feelings about the U.S. right now.

Apparently, some people need FLock explained to them...

Hmmmmm, interesting indeed.

I've always said: Never put online anything you wouldn't want shouted from the rooftops. Don't post it publicly, don't post it behind a FLock, don't even post it privately. Because I can guarantee that anything, anywhere, that gets posted online, no matter how many privacy settings you put on it, is going to come out whether you like it or not.

Luckily for me I almost always follow that bit of advice.

Now, as it so happens, less than 1% of my posts are Flocked and looking back at my own archives I haven't FLocked or Privatized anything in months. On the rare (very, very rare) occasions that I do FLock something, it's usually for the following reasons:

  • I've got something slightly wanky to say. I know it's wanky and that I might even possibly be in the wrong to get wanky about it. As a result, I FLock it because I don't want to be slammed with even more wank that points out that I'm being just a little bit of a shithead.
  • I'm being slightly bitchy about real life stuff (this is less than .0001% of all posts, by the way) and need to vent in a safe space before my head explodes.
  • I need to temporarily "store" something online that will eventually be a public post, but I have to do some formatting, linking, or additional research before I make it public. These Flocked/Privatized posts end up getting deleted when the public post is made.

So, imagine my surprise when I find out today that some very old semi-wanky fandom posts got "leaked." And by old posts, I'm talking more than a year old. This (apparently) has happened with more than one post in the fandom category.

At this point in time, I don't much care that the targets have found out the general gist of or the word-for-word contents of those posts. If shit gets kicked up in public because of it, there's going to be a whiff of "old news" about it so I'm not too fussed.

What gets me, however, is that someone on my FList (and probably not even someone who commented on those posts) decided to forward the contents of these posts (and possibly even comments made to these posts) to the parties in question.

Unfortunately, with a FList the size of mine, even when it's filted down to custom FLocks (as the posts in question invariably are), it's almost impossible to figure out who leaked them, what the motivation was, and who they actually leaked it to.

That said, please be aware of this when commenting on my (very, very) rare FLocked posts. I clearly have a mole somewhere (and doesn't that sound ominous).

As for the leaker, I find out who you are you're getting banned with no warning. Period and amen.

Again, I don't actually care at this point in time that the contents of some fandom posts have gone semi-public. What I care about is the fact you didn't respect the FLock or the reasons why those posts were FLocked.

This very, very unlocked post brought to you by someone who honestly doesn't have the patience or the time for this shit.
