The Good News is...I didn't melt down during practice today. Or rather, I didn't sound like a meth head screaming in traffic.
The Bad News is...I tend to talk too much and too long when responding to questions.
The Really Bad News is...I only give good interview when I'm pissed off. I learned this after a half-hour of the war-of-wills that was my roleplay practice.
Also...The latest trend in impressing potential employers is to present printouts of PowerPoint slides as part of your interview? Really?
I can see how this might work for sales jobs, but PowerPoint as part of your interview?
If I was interviewing someone and they handed me a PowerPoint presentation printout, I'd roll up the packet and proceed to beat them over the head with it. Gah!
Sometimes I think the whole job-hunting thing is nothing more than a Kafka-esque exercise in the overly absurd where every decision you make is wrong, bad, and stupid.
I'll be over in the corner muttering to myself.
Interview for one of the jobs is scheduled for tomorrow. Wish me luck!
