When Google Alerts Become Disturbing...

I only recently signed up for Google Alerts under both my nom de Internet and my real name, mostly because I now have Internet homesteads under my real name and I want to make sure the two never, ever cross.

And if they do cross, I want to find out ahead of time so I can do damage control.

So far, so good. *knocks wood*

In any case, I recently got an alert for a hit on my InsaneJournal account, which I mostly use for archiving purposes.

In this case, it was a saved search hit seeking my WhoIS and DNS information.

Thankfully, there's a wall of anonymity because the search results simply pinged off the the InsaneJournal server.

Still, this does not at all make me feel comfortable, even if Lizbeth Marcs persona was tucked among 100 or so other people with InsaneJournal accounts.

Sometimes information is just scary...
